Therapeutic Style: Jack recognizes that the journey that brought you to Kairos may not have been an easy one. Jack works to assist you in your self-exploration, learning, and growth by creating a safe, nurturing, respectful, yet challenging environment. Jack prioritizes your autonomy and personal responsibility in the therapeutic process.
Educational History: Jack was graduated with a B.A. from Kenyon College in 1998 with an Honors English Major, Classics Minor, and Humanities Concentration. Jack was graduated with a Master’s in Education from Vanderbilt University’s Human Development Counseling program with a Clinical Focus.
Certifications/Experience: Jack has received training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy; Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy; Psychobiological Approaches to Couples Therapy; Core Competences and Treatment Strategies for Trauma, PTSD, Chronic Pain, and Grief and Loss; Emotional Freedom Techniques; Neurolinguistic Programing and Hypnosis; and Trauma Sensitive Yoga. Jack completed one year of Advanced Psychodynamic Psychotherapy with the Nashville Center for Psychoanalysis and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. Furthermore, Jack is pursuing training and certification to become a certified sex therapist with the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists.
