Some individuals do not need individual DBT therapies. Depending on your mental health condition and the nature of your problem, the mental health practitioners at the Village might recommend group sessions.
We believe that it is easier for you to cope with your issues when you get support in groups. Working with people who are experiencing the same problems does not only give you confidence, but it gives you hope and a sense of relief that you are not the only one struggling with mental health illnesses. At Village of Kairos, we offer DBT group therapies, parent group therapies, teen therapies, and trauma-focused therapies. Each session focuses on your mental health issues, the challenges you are facing, and how you respond to these problems. There can be 5 to 15 patients in one session.
In our DBT group therapies, the patients work together to build a robust coping mechanism to deal with the challenges in the most positive and efficient way. Our Franklin and Nashville group therapy sessions offered by the certified and licensed practitioners at the Village can prove an effective solution to all your mental illnesses that occur due to traumatic events and rough experiences in life.
Why Nashville Group Therapy?
Our group therapy sessions are psychoeducational in nature, meaning they are Skills-Focused versus Process-Focused. You will not be required to disclose your most vulnerable issues in the group. Typically group sessions will include handouts for you to keep as well as homework assignments that must be completed before the next session. You may be required to purchase a workbook for your specific group.
You can attend group therapies, along with individual DBT therapy to recover faster. However, for most people, group therapy alone works wonders. It may not be a magical formula that eases your emotional pain overnight, but it shows great results if performed regularly. Whether you want to build your social skills or treat a more severe mental health problem, the Village of Kairos is your one-stop destination for a vast range of group therapies.
