Therapeutic Style: Maryam’s passion rests in helping, encouraging and empowering individuals. Her life’s mantra comes from the words of Oprah Winfrey, “When we know better, we do better.” Maryam’s goal as a therapist is to share with you the tools and resources needed to change your life for the better. She understands the power of “talking it out” and believes that each of us has something great to share with the world, we just need a little help bringing it to light. Along with communicating, Maryam also believes in speaking things into existence. Her focus is to help individuals recreate their narratives in ways that will manifest goodness into every part of their lives.
Educational History: Maryam received a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice in 2000 and a Master of Social Work degree from Tennessee State University in 2012.
Certifications/Experience: Maryam has experience working with a diverse range of groups to include children and families, adoptive/foster parents, at-risk-youth, sexually and physically abused children, young adult offenders, social service professionals and the LGBTQ community. Favorite Self-Care: Maryam enjoys daily meditation/prayer, breath-work and yoga.
Hobbies: Outside of Maryam’s work as a therapist, she’s a wife and mother. She enjoys spending time with her extremely large family, vacationing, reading and listening to live music.
